<media:description>I wanted to make one more batch of soap before the end of this year, and at this late stage, hot process is the way to go! I am often asked about how soon hot processed soap can be used after making. There is a common belief among soap makers that HP soap can be used right away, with virtually no cure period. And while this may be close to the truth for some HP soap recipes, there’s more to the story. This video provides a lovely, simple hot process soap recipe along with all the things I know about hot process soap making and the factors that influence HP soap cure time.

Enjoy the recipe! You can find it written here:
https://www.ellyseveryday.com/ellys-everyday-blog/hot-process-soap-for-the-holidays

HP aloe vera soap https://youtu.be/7IaDgxKIGzk
HP carrot and turmeric soap https://youtu.be/I_QU9N2bKmc

Please note that if you make this soap, you need to use the oils I used in my recipe (except palm oil, which can be directly substituted for tallow or lard). It's very important to correctly calculate any new oil combination you might want to use in a soap calculator. I'm currently writing a book on this topic, but in the meantime, you can learn how to calculate a soap recipe in this video https://youtu.be/AqKxin0q1bM

<media:description>Since sharing my rice bran oil bar soap recipe a couple of weeks ago, I've had a few questions about whether or not you can make liquid soap with rice bran oil. Well, yes, you can! I made a video and recipe for it back in 2022 and both are freely available on my website and soap making channel on YouTube.

Rice bran oil liquid soap is a lovely, simple, super easy recipe to make. Great for beginners. I hope you enjoy it if you try it! (BTW, I have three liquid soap recipes on my channel - all great and perfect for beginners/householders).

I wouldn't use my liquid soap recipes if you are a pro or are intending to sell your liquid soap. My method for calculating LS recipes (I have a video for that too) is very simple and only suitable for hobby/household soap makers. Liquid soap making is a little more complicated than bar soap making!

Let me know if you have any troubles in the comments, I'm happy to help you out as best as I can 🤗

<media:description>This is one of my all time favourite hacks for soap making! Every now and then I'm tempted to wash up my soap dishes right away, but I always regret it 🫤

This method is SO much easier, especially if you're a small scale/hobby maker like me.

How do you handle your soap making wash up? I'm curious to know if the pros out there wash up right away or do they also leave their pots and pans to saponify 😉

<media:description>Olive oil is so expensive at the moment due to shortages around the world. This 100% rice bran oil castile type soap is a nice alternative! This recipe works with both olive oil and rice bran oil.

I haven't written this recipe out for my website, because it's really so basic! But I'll list the ingredients below if you want to give it a try. _Please_ take your time and get very familiar with all the aspects of soap making (watch lots of videos!) before you make soap for the first time. A good place to start would be to watch this beginner recipe video https://youtu.be/lBc-dWQmFIM and this video about soap making safety https://youtu.be/EZTsW9UvNmU

*Ingredients*
950g rice bran oil (you can also use olive oil - it's essentially a castile soap recipe)
240g filtered water
120g sodium hydroxide (please use the correct PPE when handling lye)
24g tenfold orange essential oil
6g patchouli essential oil
SPECS: 5% superfat, 2:1 water to lye ratio, EO at 3% of base soaping oil

<media:description>This is one of my all time favourite essential oil blends that I use all the time in my soap recipes. Everyone loves it 🥰. Tenfold (concentrated) orange and patchouli essential oils, mixed in just the right amounts (8 parts orange and 2 parts patchouli) and you’ve got something so fresh, sweet and fruity - I reckon it smells like Fruit Tingles!

This is just one example of how you can calculate essential oils for your handmade soap recipes. If you’d like to dive deeper into how you can create your own blends and get the right amount for your own recipes, check out this video:
